Xiaomi announced their gen-next Note series device at an event in China today – the Mi Note 3. The phone has been awaited for quite a while and it has finally been announced. Xiaomi’s announcement of their gen-next devices comes just one day before Apple launches the iPhone 8 and (alleged) iPhone X phones.
Xiaomi’s President Lin Bin had announced that the phone was going to launch at the same event as the Mi Mix 2. The Xiaomi Mi Note 3 follows up last years’ Mi Note 2 device. Along with the Mi Note 3, the company also launched the bezel-less Mi Mix 2 smartphone (Read Here). However let us now take a look at the features of Xiaomi’s Note 3 smartphone –
Xiaomi Mi Note 3 Specifications
Xiaomi’s gen-next Mi Note smartphone comes out into the markets with a 5.5 inch super AMOLED display panel which offers a resolution of 1920×1080. The phone does not feature a bezel-less display like other major flagships, but this isn’t really a flagship device so that can be overlooked.
The phone runs on a Snapdragon 660 64-bit octa-core processor and is one of the best players in the mid-budget flagship market. The CPU is assisted by an Adreno 512 GPU. In addition to this, the Mi Note 3 comes out with 6GB of LPDDR4 RAM along with two storage variants – 64GB and 128GB. It is a UFS 2.1 storage which is also non-expandable.
Xiaomi’s Mi Note 3 comes out into the markets with a dual camera on the back. This is one of the highlights of the Mi Note 3. The camera setup is identical to that of the Xiaomi Mi 6 which came out earlier this year. The Mi Note 3 features a 12MP + 12MP camera setup on the back and offers Optical Image Stabilization as well. The main camera offers an RGB lens while the second camera comes with a telephoto lens.
Camera was the focal point of the launch as Xiaomi talked about various features of the Note 3’s camera. One of the highlights of the camera features is the Adaptable AI Beautify mode which lets the camera to click better selfies. The phone comes with a 16MP camera on the front.
The Mi Note 3 runs on Android 7.1 Nougat OS, and will get an Android Oreo update in the days to follow. Currently the phone runs on MIUI 9 – Xiaomi’s latest version of their custom UI which they launched late in July.
Similar to the Xiaomi Mi 6, the Xiaomi Mi Note 3 too, does not come out with a 3.5 mm jack. However the phone does offer the users with a USB Type-C to 3.5mm dongle. The phone supports 4G LTE connectivity, as well as the latest Bluetooth standard of Bluetooth 5.0.
The Mi Note 3 comes out in two color variants – Black and Blue. Finally, the phone runs on a 3500mAh non-removable battery which supports Qualcomm’s Quick Charge 3.0 fast charging technology. Let us now take a look at the pricing:
