Over the past few years, there have been some technologies that have changed the way the users behave. One such app that has brought forward a major change in user behavior is that of Uber! The app has brought forward a major change in the way we use technology on a daily basis. Uber has empowered users to make use of transport services in a more easy and efficient manner. The Uber app has finally arrived for the Android Wear users.

We keep mentioning the word ‘finally’ because it took Uber nearly 2 years to launch their Android Wear app. The Uber app for Android Wear devices was announced back in the Google I/O 2015. Since then, it’s been quite a long while, but the app has finally released today. However, it is only for the Android Wear 2.0 users.

With the Uber app releasing for Android Wear 2.0, it is a standalone app, that does not require your phone to have the app. It works on its own, and it can allow you to easily book a cab via your watch. Users can simply open the Uber app on their Android Wear 2.0 watches, tap the place where they want to go from the bookmarks, (or manually enter a location), and request a cab!

All the details such as the prices, ETA, Driver’s location, as well as the plate number will be displayed directly on to the watch, which is quite cool. Android Wear 2.0 was officially announced last week, and Uber has been quick to release their app for the platform.

Uber’s primary competitor, Lyft too, is expected to be working on an Android Wear app. While Uber did not have any app on the Android Wear platform before this, Lyft did have one, but it was eventually pulled down. We expect a Lyft app to soon rival the Uber app on this platform as well!
