Over the past several years, Tumblr has managed to become one of the most popular alternative social media websites. The blogging website has achieved immense popularity, and has been doing really well. However, the company has now given the users another reason to keep posting on their tumblr – Tumblr Ads.

Tumblr Ads

The company has now published a post titled “Coming Soon, Money from your Tumblr”.  This is where they explain in detail about the Tumblr Ads. As of now, it is not clear about what form the ads will take. However, they are likely to appear natively on a Tumblr blog. Currently, the details on the revenue split, too, are not revealed. However, even 1 is greater than 0, and any money that could be made off Tumblr is a welcome change for bloggers.

Over the years, the blogging platform has become a popular hangout for many teens as well as celebs. The ads will soon start rolling out, but the money will begin flowing in ‘later this year’, as per Tumblr. More details on the Tumblr Ads will be revealed soon by the company. Site owners will first need to register their details in order to  enroll themselves for this scheme.

For those users who wish to keep their blog ad-free, they can turn off the setting. Ads have been a part of Tumblr for a long while. They were however restricted to the dashoards. With these new Tumblr ads that the company has been planning, things could be taken to a whole new level. The ads too, would be much more creative and would match with the kind of audiences that engage over there.

With Snapchat too, coming out with innovative advertising ideas, Tumblr has now stepped up. Tumblr ads, as well as the earlier introduced Tumblr video streaming services are all set to change the game for the company. On their blog, the company announced – “Tumblr is a place where brilliant, creative, funny, impossible people shape culture. Some of you have even turned your passions into jobs: book deals, music careers, paid gigs with the Creatrs program. Now, (soon!) that opportunity will be available to any eligible Tumblr—poet, musician, fan artist, and misfit weirdo memelord alike.”
