Few days back we posted regarding Motorola sending Android Lollipop updates to the Motorola Moto E Smartphones, even after passage of 4-5 days not all devices have received the Android Lollipop 5.0.2 update in their Moto E. So today, I’ll guide you with the steps to manually install Android 5.0.2 Lollipop in your Moto E.

Well, since Motorola has officially released updates for many Moto E devices, it is for sure that the other devices would also get the Android 5.0.2 Lollipop OTA update, However, the time is not known, you may get it today, so if you are not having much patience, you can begin with the steps listed below.

Note Installing this firmware won’t require access to root, nor it would void your warranty, since this is an official firmware there is no harm your device may face.

Before beginning with the steps, Though, this won’t void your warranty, but in case any damage takes place while installing the official Android Lollipop 5.0.2 Firmware, Neither Droidmen nor the Author would be responsible for any damages.

Step 1 : Download the Android 5.0.2 Lollipop Official Package for Moto E

To install the firmware we need the firmware, hence download the “Android 5.0.2 Lollipop official firmware for the Moto E” and then rename it to “Blur_Version.21.12.40.condor_retaildsds.retaildsdsall.en.03.zip“. download it and store it to the root directory of your Moto E’s external storage.

This Firmware will give you an update notification, once you receive the update notification, you just have to follow the normal instructions you get while you update the Smartphone using OTA update.

    as i copy that zip file into internal storage my device is still now showing new version update dialogue in system update.
    please help me as i m eagerly waiting for the lollipop update

  4. By root directory of sd card u mean placing that file in the internal storage of my phone
    By the i purchased it from e-retail
    And the update is for retail models maybe

  5. @disqus_oUZW5I9ai8:disqus nope it is not like that, Motorola Smartphones are only available on Flipkart and cannot be bought from any retail stores in your place in India.

    However, by root directory of the SD card, I meant that the File which you are downloading should be placed in your Memory cards root directory. i.e Outermost location of your memory card. Do let me know if you still face issues. 🙂
