All of the Xiaomi Smartphones come with MIUI installed in it, The UI is not just limited to MI smartphones there are many MIUI based roms available for people who don’t own a Xiaomi smartphone. MIUI v6 is already a lovely flavor but, these days launching things with new things is a key to remain in the competitive market so updates have become necessary.
A post up on the MIUI forum says that the next version of the MIUI (MIUI v7) will be arriving in less than two weeks. Xiaomi is supposed to hold a launch event on 13th August for the same. We all know Samsung is all bucked up to launch the next in the Note series on the same date. Is it Xiaomi’s strategy to steal the spotlight from Samsung?
Earlier last month alleged specifications for Xiaomi Mi 5 and Xiaomi Mi 5 Plus was leaked. In all probability, the smartphone that will be accompanying MIUI 7 launch will be Mi5. The leaked specifications includes QHD display, Snapdragon 810 SoC, 16MP rear camera, 13MP front camera and 3,000mAh battery at a price of CNY 2,399 or ~$386 or ~Rs. 25,000.
The Xiaomi Mi5 Plus is likely to be launched later owing to the rumor that it will sport a Snapdragon 820 processor. If it happens, Xiaomi would be giving a tough competition to companies like OnePlus, Motorola and Samsung. Another rumor says Xiaomi is also set to launch a Mi Ban fitness tracker which might also pop up at the 13th August event.
