LG V30 was one of the most anticipated smartphones of the year. The phone was announced on 31st of August, just before the IFA 2017 began. LG revealed the LG V30 and LG V30+ smartphones. However the biggest mystery since launch was the price of the smartphones. The pricing has finally been revealed today! This delay in the announcement makes us wonder if LG was waiting for the Samsung Galaxy Note 8 and new iPhone price announcements.
Cutting straight to the chase,
- The LG V30 will be priced in at KRW 949,300 ($842)
- The LG V30+ will be priced in at KRW 998,800 ($885)
The LG V30 and V30+ pre-orders will begin starting tomorrow, and will go on till the 20th of September in South Korea. The phone will be available to purchase starting the 21st of September.
In addition to this, customers of the LG V30 and V30+ would also be getting the Google Daydream VR headsets for a very nominal price of KRW 1,000 which is even less than $1. This is just a token amount that the users need to pay for the headset which would otherwise cost $79 (KRW 89,000).
The phones have been strategically priced in at a little lower than both, the Samsung Galaxy Note 8, as well as the iPhone X. While Apple too decided to introduced a considerably cheaper iPhone variant this year priced in at $699 and $799, a third $999 iPhone is the true game-changer. Talking about the Android markets, the Samsung Galaxy Note 8 starts above $900. In these pricing wars it looks like the LG V30 has found just the right price.
2017 has been a good year for LG as the company began the year on a successful note, noting that they now hold 20% of the total US smartphone market share. With the LG G6 and the V30, LG is on a path to success. Stay tuned with us for more updates on LG smartphones.
