While Android Nougat is yet to reach an overwhelming majority of existing Android smartphones, Android Oreo has been expanding it’s reach. The latest smartphone to soon get Android Oreo will be the Huawei P10 as well as the P10 Plus. The company has begun testing a beta update for users enrolled in the beta testing program.

Beta programs are getting common off late. Almost every smartphone manufacturer has one. These beta tests help the company gather usage statistics and user feedback as to how well the OS is functioning as well as the kind of bugs and errors that the users are facing. Huwaei has already released Android Oreo beta for their Huawei P9 smartphones – and now it’s time for the Huawei P10 and P10 Plus to get the update.

Huawei Mobile Romania has put out a Facebook post where the company says that they are looking for Huawei P10 and P10 Plus owners who are willing to be beta testers. Android Oreo Beta will only work on your Huawei P10 or P10 Plus if you are running one of the following software versions –

  • VTR-L09C432B180
  • VTR-L29C432B180
  • VKY-L09C432B181
  • VKY-L29C432B181

If you happen to be one of these users and are looking forward to test Android Oreo (Beta Version) on your Huawei P10 – now is your chance. All you need to do is to download the Huawei Beta app, and log in with your Huawei ID (HWID). Those who join the beta program will automatically be prompted for the OTA update which will upgrade their phone to the beta version of Android Oreo OS shortly.

With a number of phones getting the Android Oreo update, it almost feels like Android Nougat and Android Oreo are growing at pretty much the same speed – recently, Xiaomi Mi A1 Android One smartphone received the Android Oreo OS update right before 2017 ended. It looks like Huawei phones are next.
