BlackBerry as a company has moved out of the hardware markets for over a year now. The company has given licenses to other manufacturers to use their brand name as they are now focusing on the software and security business. The latest BlackBerry branded phone to come out is the BlackBerry Motion, which was earlier spotted in leaks code-named BlackBerry Krypton.

Later last month, the BlackBerry Krypton was spotted in leaks with a carbon fiber body. However in that leaked image all we could see was the back of the phone. Popular tipster Evan Blass has now revealed how the phone looks from the front too. It is indeed an all-touch device, as speculated. The classic BlackBerry QWERTY keyboard is not present in the BlackBerry Motion.

The phone is designed and manufactured by TCL while using the BlackBerry brand. It is expected to be IP67 waterproof and will offer a massive battery life, reportedly of 26 hours!

The phone doesn’t really resemble a 2017 smartphone as it comes with bezels around it and a single camera. However BlackBerry was never about design standards but was focused at performance. The BlackBerry Motion comes with a large display and a fingerprint scanner in the front which comes with the BlackBerry logo.

The phone’s frame is made of metal while the back is made of carbon fiber. This gives the phone an added advantage of durability. The BlackBerry Motion comes out as the gen-next BlackBerry device after the BlackBerry KEYone. There’s a 3.5mm jack on the phone. It is expected to be powered by a Snapdragon 625 processor along with 4GB of RAM.

Add the massive battery and the durability and it’s a great mid-budget device. It will be interesting to see how TCL plans to price the BlackBerry motion, considering the brand isn’t really in high demand and the phone has average features. Stay tuned with us for more details on the device. The phone is expected to launch in October.
