The Android Nougat OS has been on fire over the past few days! It has been reaching out a large number of smartphones, and a number of Samsung devices are getting the update across various carriers. Earlier today, the AT&T Samsung Galaxy Note 5 started getting the much awaited update, and it is now the turn of the Verizon Samsung Galaxy Note 5 and the Verizon Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge+ to get the Android 7.0 Nougat OS update.

This update is rolling out for both the smartphones simultaneously, and is now live. The official Verizon website confirms this fact, and it is now rolling out. The phones are both Samsung’s 2015 flagships, and it is great to see Samsung roll out updates on time. Verizon too, doesn’t really have a good track record of timely updates, but it looks like both the companies are working together to roll out timely updates – a benefit for the users!

Samsung has pulled up their socks and has been sending out the updates on time. The company knows that they can leave no aspect of their operations open for criticism any more, especially after the Samsung Galaxy Note 7 debacle of last year. The Android Nougat OS update which is almost at 5% market share will get quite a boost in the next month with all these Samsung updates rolling out.

The Android Nougat OS update coming out for both the phones is that of the Android 7.0 Nougat OS and not Android 7.1. The Android 7.1 Nougat OS update however, is expected to soon roll out for the Samsung Galaxy S8 once it comes out into the markets. The updates for both Verizon Samsung Galaxy Note 5 and S6 Edge+ is now live, but will be rolled out regionally. users need not panic if they don’t see the update straight away. Users are recommended to download the update over a stable Wi-Fi connection and to install it on a full battery.
