The best thing about Android is, one doesn’t have to wait for the OS updates from the manufacturers. Google recently made the Android 7.0 Nougat available for the new Nexus devices. It was not available for the Nexus 5 officially. However, Android developers found a way and booted the Android 7.0 Nougat OS on the Nexus 5.
The nature of the Android OS allows anyone to develop the OS. That’s the reason why we are able to see a lot of latest version OS updates on older devices. Recently, a Senior and known developer named ‘Alberto’ posted on the XDA Forums saying, that he was able to boot the latest android version i.e. The Android 7.0 Nougat on Moto G 2015.
He has also said, Currently only Bluetooth works fine and the other features aren’t working. The same happened with the Google Nexus 5’s Android Nougat ROM as well, but after 24 hrs, people got the issues solved and made the ROM available to the public. The version which released later had most of the features working and was less buggy.
It is also said, that Qualcomm won’t be releasing the graphics driver for the Snapdragon 800 and Snapdragon 801 SoC. That’s why a lot of phones which were released with the mentioned chipsets won’t get the Android Nougat Update officially, but if you are one among them, then flashing a Custom ROM is the only option which you will have.
It can be said that the custom ROM developers such as CyanogenMod, Bliss and a lot of other known ROM developers would soon be launching the Android Nougat based ROMs for the Motorola Moto G3 (Moto G 2015). Officially, none of the ROM developers have announced the date on which they’ll be launching a stable Android 7.0 Nougat based ROMs for the Moto G3, but we can expect it to happen soon.
