Nokia has become the latest name to roll out the Android 7.1.1 Nougat OS update for their Nokia 6 smartphone which came out a few months ago. Initially released in China, this smartphone has now been releasing for some other markets as well.
The Android 7.1.1 Nougat OS update for the Nokia 6 smartphone has started rolling out a few hours ago. The update weighs in at about 369MB, and comes with the build number 00CN_3_170. This Android Nougat OS update offers the users with the latest April 2017 Android Security Patch. This is a major advantage for the users as they would be getting the latest security updates from Google with this update.
The new Nokia smartphones are being manufactured by HMD Global. The company had claimed that they would keep updating their phones with the latest updates, and they are indeed living up to their promise. HMD Global has the rights to manufacture Nokia branded smartphones and tablets for ten years.
In addition to the Android 7.1.1 Nougat OS update for Nokia 6, the update also brings in various phone-specific updates as well. The update brings forward an improvement in the power-saving mode, as well as the background management feature that the Nokia 6 runs on. In addition to this, support for dual SIM dual-standby for 4G and 3G networks has also been introduced. Moreover, the phone’s USB drivers are updated as well.
The Nokia 6 is all set to get a global launch in the Spring of this year, where it will release in various international markets, including the US. The company had announced the Nokia 3 and Nokia 5 smartphones in February which are all set to be released in May.
